Why remove the old insulation?
You can't always just "add on top." When the existing insulation is settled, soiled or damp, extraction, the complete removal of the old insulation, is the step that ensures your new insulation will actually reach its rated performance (R-51).

When extraction is necessary
- Settled insulation that has lost most of its insulating value.
- Contamination by rodents, mould or water infiltration.

In many cases, adding thickness over healthy, dry insulation is enough and more economical. Extraction is only needed when the existing insulation is compromised. Our job is to tell you the truth: we don't charge for an unnecessary extraction.
