What is spray foam insulation?

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is an insulant applied as a liquid that expands on contact with the surface. As it cures, it fills every crack and bonds perfectly to the substrate. It's the only insulant that works in a single step as insulation, an air barrier and a vapour barrier, with an insulating value of about R-6 per inch — the highest in the residential market.
