LogisVert grant 2026: how to get it

What is LogisVert?

LogisVert is Hydro-Québec's energy-efficiency program. For insulation, it's the simplest and most direct help in 2026: $1,500 when your work combines roof insulation (for example the attic) and air sealing (caulking). Unlike other programs, no pre-work energy evaluation is required, which makes it especially accessible.

And the program is growing: Quebec announced a $158.9 million boost over 4 years for LogisVert (announcement relayed by Écohabitation in June 2026). In other words, the program is here to stay — but funds are never unlimited and conditions can evolve. If your attic is due, now is a good time.

How much can you receive?

For the insulation component, LogisVert pays $1,500 for the combination of roof insulation + air sealing. It's not an "up to" amount calculated case by case: if the work meets the requirements, that's the amount. Payment is made after the work, on proof of completion (detailed invoices and photos).

Note: the two components go together. Insulating the attic without doing the complete air sealing, or the reverse, doesn't qualify. Which makes sense — a well-insulated attic that still leaks warm air through the ceiling loses a good part of its efficiency.

In concrete terms, on a typical attic insulation bill of $2,500 to $4,000, that $1,500 often covers 40 to 60% of the cost of the work. Few residential renovations get subsidized in that proportion — which makes attic insulation one of the most profitable projects to do in 2026.

The main conditions

Are you eligible? The 5-point checklist

  1. Your main heating is electric (baseboards, heat pump, electric furnace) and you're a residential Hydro-Québec customer.
  2. Your roof can reach R-50 (RSI 8.8) after the work — true of practically every accessible attic where insulation can be blown in.
  3. You're ready to do the air sealing at the same time — the two components are inseparable.
  4. Your contractor holds the RBQ 7.0 licence and is registered with the REQ — ask for the licence number; a serious contractor gives it without hesitating (ours is shown on our quotes).
  5. You keep your proof — detailed invoices and before/after photos, required for payment.

If you check all 5 boxes, your file has every chance of going through. Any doubt on one point? Ask before the work, not after.

Rénoclimat: also boosted in 2026

The other major program, Rénoclimat (Government of Quebec), was enhanced for 2026. The amounts are now worth a serious look for bigger projects:

MeasureRénoclimat help, 2026
Roof insulationUp to $1,500
Wall insulationUp to $3,750
Overall cap (house)$20,000
Overall cap (plex)$40,000

The trade-off: Rénoclimat requires an energy audit before AND after the work. Without the pre-work evaluation, no grant is possible — the classic trap for people who start their renovations too fast. Also new: as of October 1, 2026, a climate adaptation component joins the program, funded with $425 million over 5 years.

LogisVert or Rénoclimat: which one to choose?

The two programs don't play in the same league, and that's a good thing:

Can you combine them? Yes, depending on the measures. You can't receive two grants for the same work, but nothing stops you from using LogisVert for the attic and Rénoclimat for other eligible measures. Every file is its own case — which is why planning before signing anything matters.

How we make it easy for you

Paperwork discourages many homeowners. At Isolation à Rabais, we prepare the file with you: work that meets the requirements (R-50 reached, complete air sealing, RBQ 7.0 licence in good standing), the detailed invoices and before/after photos you'll need, and we guide you step by step through the application. The final eligibility decision always belongs to Hydro-Québec, but with a properly built file, you put every chance on your side — no headaches.

One last tip: the choice of insulation also matters for compliance. If you're weighing your options, our comparison of cellulose, blown-in or spray foam helps you decide.
